About this session

What remedial + assisted stretch actually does

This session pairs remedial massage with guided PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching — contract-relax techniques where you briefly engage the muscle against my resistance, then let go into a deeper, safer stretch.

It suits anyone who feels tight no matter how much they stretch on their own, and anyone whose range matters: dancers, aerialists, martial artists, lifters and people returning to training after time off.

What happens in a session

Three parts, every time.

  1. 1

    Structural assessment

Where is the restriction really coming from — muscle, joint capsule or nervous-system guarding?

  2. 2

    Targeted deep tissue

Release work on the areas that are limiting range.

  3. 3

    Assisted PNF stretching

Contract-relax stretching through the new range so it sticks.

Who this helps

Who books remedial + assisted stretch — and why

People whose flexibility has plateaued

If you stretch regularly and nothing changes, passive stretching has given what it has. PNF assisted stretching works with the nervous system instead of against it — most people access more range in one session than months of solo holds.

Dancers, martial artists and athletes chasing usable range

Splits, kicks and deep positions need range you can control under load. Release-then-stretch-then-strengthen is how flexible becomes functional.

Stiff-by-default bodies

Some bodies simply run tight — genetics, age, years of lifting. Assisted stretching is the efficient path: I do the positioning and support, you just breathe and follow instructions.

In the session

Techniques I actually use

  • PNF contract-relax

You engage the muscle against my resistance for a few seconds, then release — the nervous system allows a deeper, safer stretch than passive pulling ever will.

  • Targeted release first

Deep tissue work on the restriction before stretching it, so we're lengthening tissue that's ready to move.

  • Active end-range control

Owning the new range with strength, so it's still there next week.

  • Take-home programming

Two or three specific stretches matched to what we found — not a generic sheet.

Questions

Before you book

What is PNF stretching?

A method where you contract the muscle against gentle resistance for a few seconds, then relax — the nervous system lets the muscle lengthen further than passive stretching allows.

I'm hypermobile — is this safe?

Yes, with the right approach. For hypermobile bodies I focus on control and stability at end range rather than pushing for more range. I am hypermobile myself, so this is a session I have refined on my own body.
